1254 - The priors of Athassel sat in parliament as spiritual barons, and the ring and mitre were granted in 1254. (CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 157) 
1319 - There were several lawsuits in the fourteenth century, and the priory was burnt by L. John FitzThomas in 1319. (A), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 157)

1370 - The Bishop of Emly's right of visitation was contested in 1370(CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 157) 
1394 - John Cablis was prior in 1394 (A), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 157) 
1400 - 1401 - In 1400, the priory was unlawfully detained by Robert Macmagyn, and William de Burgo was collated from a French monastery. The following year, he complained to the pope that when he arrived at Athassel, the archbishop excommunicated him and the canons refused to obey him. (CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 157) 
1445 - In 1445, the priory was void by the death of Robert Stakaboll and unlawfully detained by Edmund Stapaton who was to be displaced by Richard de Burgo, a sub-deacon. (CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 158) 
1447 - In 1447m Geoffrey de Burgo, who went with a band under Archbishop John Cantwell I to protect the monastery from an attack by certain nobles, was wounded and lost an eye in trying to rescue a stricken canon (CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 158) 
1460 - Prior David Hacket became bishop of Ossory in 1460 (CPR), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 158) 
1476 - In 1476, a Cistercian of Inishlounaght was collated but Thomas de Burgo, who had been deprived, was replaced by Walter de Burgo. When these two were later accused of unlawfully detaining the prior, David Hacket who was aged 23 and illegitimate, was to be admitted as a canon for appointment as prior. 1551 - In 1551, the precinct of two acres contained a church with a belfry, and extensive conventual buildings. Later reports reveal that its possessions included c. 1000 acres, many messuages, and 45 rectories,val. of part being £134 16s. 10d. (A (CR and AG)), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 158) 
1557 - In 1557, Athassel and other monasteries were granted to Thomas, Earl of Ormond and Ossory (Morrin, i), (Med. religious houses, Ire., 158)
